Slippery waves

Give me the perseverance
Of these slippery waves,
Lashing across the rocks,
In hopes of reaching beyond,
pulled away and withdrawn,
Only to rise again,
Yet another time,
In yet another form.

Pitter patter rain

Pitter patter rain! - Oh! How you fall!
Sometimes so gentle, - Sometimes so fast,
How you love the earth, - that you descend from above,
With not a thought, - not a doubt,
Never to waver, - nor to linger,
Sometimes a dainty drizzle, - Sometimes a drenching downpour,
At times a nervous lover, - At times a long lost love,
Teach me to love, - to love like you,
Not to falter, - not to waver,
Not to hesitate, - not to linger,
Is the earth so worthy, - that you fall with abandon?
Or is it your surrender, - that makes the earth worthy?

Autumn Red!!!

When the cold fingers of winter slightly brush,
In rioting reds does nature blush!!!

Winter Maple Tree

The maple tree outside my window,
Oh! How I wish it could be me,
For dry and leafless, cold in the winter,
Stands so calmly with poise and grandeur,
Knows in its heart, the promise of the future,
The promise of a spring, the promise of nature!

The little blade of grass

The Little blade of grass,
Tingling in the rain,
Leaps up with a gust of life,
awakened by the touch of rain,
Flexible as it is,
And wonderfully green,
dew drops on its tips,
adding to the sheen,
Vibrant in its color,
Beautiful in its curve,
Makes my heart fuller,
Adds life in every nerve,
The little blade of grass,
Tingling in the rain.

Rain Rain don't go away!!!!

I wait like the parched earth, thirsty for rain,
Bristling with excitement at the grey sky above,
A matter of minutes, a matter of seconds,
Before the first drop touches the land,
Leaving its fluffy home in clouds above,
To reach the eager and yearning earth below,
With its drenching torrents of silver slivers,
In pearly drops and in descending rivers,
When all of creation scrambles for shelter,
I stand hither abandoned to nature,
The smell of rain filling the air,
Fills my soul with a yearning unknown,
The gentlest ruffle of the playful breeze,
Havoc, in my controlled poise, it wreaks,
The chirp of a bird singing with glee,
Joins this strange and festive melee,
The lightning strikes and the thunder rolls,
My heart thumps wildly and my fingers close,
The wind picks up speed, beats against my face,
The smell of rain intensifies in space,
The air grows heavy, trees bend windwards,
I lift my eyes up, and the earth gazes skywards.

Looking for beauty

I look for you
In the glisten of the snow

In the rolling plains
And the deep blue sea

In the soaring skies
And the golden beach

In the lashing waves
And the transitory foam

I looked high and low,
I looked far and wide,

But little did I know,
In my eyes you reside!

On the city view from a flight

From the middle of nowhere,
Suspended in mid air,

I look at the world below,
The seas dark, and cities aglow.

A thousand lights dim and bright,
Constrasting the black of the night.

Some line paths to places,
Some shine soft from houses,

Some light up the journey,
Some illumine the end,

But however feeble or tiny,
Yet, darkness they transcend!!!

The Gift

Flawless as its glass, let my respect be,
Continuous as its ticking, let my heart beat,
Silent not to disturb,
Yet precise not to fail.

Strong as its links, let my trust be,
Subdued as its sheen, let my love be,
Neat and graceful, forever to stay,
Not shine and glitter, only to fade away.

Never too heavy to tie down your hands,
Not too flimsy to break into strands,
Slight and sure, as it clings to your wrist,
For ever and ever, let me hold your hand.

Bird So Sweet

With every chirp,
My heart jumps,
With every flutter,
My heart leaps,
With every flight,
My heart soars,
Contemplating you,
My bird so sweet,
The sky so blue,
Rolls at my feet!!!

Set my heart free!!!

Pine trees lining the fence,
Autumn leaves adding color,
Chirping birds lined on the electric line,
A far away cottage nestled in the hills,
An antique lamp post elegent on the street,
a hangling flower pot swaying in the wind,
Little drops of drizzling rain,
Cozy houses across the street,
Human civilization at its best,
blending smoothly in nature's nest,
Life in all its vibrance around me,
Filling every inch of space with glee,
From the confines of the glass door,
Makes this wretched heart to soar,
Leaving behind all its little troubles,
Beyond the fence, beyond the hills,
Purest bliss gushing in,
with every caress and gust of wind,
How I yearn to dissolve into space,
spread my soul into every place,
Look into the heart of every tree,
Know the secret of being rooted yet free,
Fly on the wings of every bird,
Listen to its melodies, heard, unheard,
The memories of begone years,
Filled with silent tears,
Anxieties of the coming days,
Unknown fears lurking in the maze,
Yet, one glimpse into this joyous beauty,
Heals my heart and sets it free!!!
