Winter Maple Tree

The maple tree outside my window,
Oh! How I wish it could be me,
For dry and leafless, cold in the winter,
Stands so calmly with poise and grandeur,
Knows in its heart, the promise of the future,
The promise of a spring, the promise of nature!

The little blade of grass

The Little blade of grass,
Tingling in the rain,
Leaps up with a gust of life,
awakened by the touch of rain,
Flexible as it is,
And wonderfully green,
dew drops on its tips,
adding to the sheen,
Vibrant in its color,
Beautiful in its curve,
Makes my heart fuller,
Adds life in every nerve,
The little blade of grass,
Tingling in the rain.

Rain Rain don't go away!!!!

I wait like the parched earth, thirsty for rain,
Bristling with excitement at the grey sky above,
A matter of minutes, a matter of seconds,
Before the first drop touches the land,
Leaving its fluffy home in clouds above,
To reach the eager and yearning earth below,
With its drenching torrents of silver slivers,
In pearly drops and in descending rivers,
When all of creation scrambles for shelter,
I stand hither abandoned to nature,
The smell of rain filling the air,
Fills my soul with a yearning unknown,
The gentlest ruffle of the playful breeze,
Havoc, in my controlled poise, it wreaks,
The chirp of a bird singing with glee,
Joins this strange and festive melee,
The lightning strikes and the thunder rolls,
My heart thumps wildly and my fingers close,
The wind picks up speed, beats against my face,
The smell of rain intensifies in space,
The air grows heavy, trees bend windwards,
I lift my eyes up, and the earth gazes skywards.

Looking for beauty

I look for you
In the glisten of the snow

In the rolling plains
And the deep blue sea

In the soaring skies
And the golden beach

In the lashing waves
And the transitory foam

I looked high and low,
I looked far and wide,

But little did I know,
In my eyes you reside!

On the city view from a flight

From the middle of nowhere,
Suspended in mid air,

I look at the world below,
The seas dark, and cities aglow.

A thousand lights dim and bright,
Constrasting the black of the night.

Some line paths to places,
Some shine soft from houses,

Some light up the journey,
Some illumine the end,

But however feeble or tiny,
Yet, darkness they transcend!!!
